Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia N3200 19 Squadron

Issued to 19 Sqn in April 1940 it was shot down during its first operational sortie on 26 May. Sqn Ldr G Stephenson survived. N3200 was recovered in 1986 from Sangatte beach. It was restored to flight in 2014 and still wears 19 Sqn codes.

 

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Ia X4650 54 Squadron

Flow by Sgt H Squire collided with Al Deere during a training flight, although unhurt S4650 was abandoned on the bank of the river Leven. Eventually excavated in 1976 it eventually flew again in March 2012 and later appeared in the film Dunkirk

 

Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IIa P7350 Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

Built at Castle Bromwich in 1940 P7350 saw action during the Battle of Britain, it survived the war but sold for scrap, restored in 1968 for the Battle of Britain film it was subsequently donated to the RAF. Based at RAF Coningsby it is operated by the BBMF and wears the markings of Al Deere’s Kiwi III when he was with 54 Sqn
